Lower Castle Greiz

In addition to the Upper Castle and the summer palace number three of the palace complex in Greiz. This time in the baroque style, located directly in the small old town. There is a restaurant in the castle.

The Lower Castle is a closed ensemble of 19th century residential architecture. Today, the Lower Castle houses the museum, the textile workshop, the Greiz Information Centre, the music school and a café.

The Lower Castle, built in the 16th century, is located directly on the banks of the White Elster. For centuries it was the seat of the Princely House of Reuss.
After a devastating outskirts, it was rebuilt from 1802-1809.
Today the premises house a museum, the Greiz information center, a music school, a workshop and a café.
