The Hudewald forest is a relic of the earlier use of wood, because at that time wood was only used for heating in the vicinity of the village. Thin trunks were sawn off. Several new shoots grew out of the roots, which were then cut down again after about 20 years. Some of these impressive Hudebuches with the typical coppice can be admired on this section of the route.
