The mill is first mentioned in 1471. At that time, the Archbishop of Trier, Johann v. Baden a Gelen, son of Heintz and Else von Udenraith (Auderath), was allowed to build a “meal place near our pond in Ulmen”. The Auderath mill is part of the mill hike - the complete route can be found on the Ulmen tourist association website.

Although the mill itself hasn't been in operation for many decades and now serves "only" as a residential building, the very friendly owner is happy to provide information and guide you through the grounds. Parts of the old millwork can still be seen.
