Not far from the Ulmener Maar viewing platform, on the circular path around the maar, you pass this place of worship. This is a blessing station of a ceremonial church procession with an altar for placing the Blessed Sacrament from the early 16th century. Next to it is a spring enclosure from an unknown time, which probably served ritual purposes and provided water for pain and wound healing. Traditionally a place of prayer for pregnant women before giving birth, hence also popularly known as "Ditzjes Bäreschje". In 1779, the last Elector of Trier, Clemens Wencelslaus, stayed - then called the "Brunnenstube".
