The listed half-timbered house has been used almost continuously as a restaurant, pastry shop, café and pub since the building was rebuilt in 1686 after a major fire in Wiedenbrück, making it one of the oldest restaurants in Rheda-Wiedenbrück. Not only is the facade of our cozy restaurant in excellent condition, the interior also breathes history. In the hall, original stone slabs from the 17th century form the floor. At the regulars' table, guests enjoy their Hohenfelder beer or their dinner under a fabulous chandelier made by artists from the Wiedenbrück school.Traditional dishes are offered in a modern guise. Honest and down-to-earth home cooking like grandma used to make.Source: teutoburgerwald.de/region/gastro-event/gastronomie-tipps/gastronomie/fuchshoehle

This year the head chef is standing in front of the Fox Cave himself! A very fitting sculpture, beautifully draped!
The food in the Fox Cave was very good. The ambience is simply wonderful, and in keeping with the half-timbering, there are also lots of beams inside. It's nice that it hasn't been trimmed to look modern.
