The three mill wheels are a monument reminiscent of the flour mill "Neue Mühle", which stood here from 1250 to 1969. The outline of the former building can be seen in the pavement on the square. The three mill wheels each have a diameter of five meters and are driven by the flowing water of an artificially created branch of the Ems, which is passed through Wiedenbrück.
