This building stands out from afar because of its gigantic green roof.
Closer up, the gate stands out, which is in a small part of what looks like an old monastery wall... and it is: this former convent of the Ursuline Sisters from the 19th century and the adjacent Sancta Maria School, were converted into the cohousing project De Okelaar.
The school closed its doors in 1993. The large building on the street side and the primary school at the back both date from before the First World War. In 2019, the co-housing project was inaugurated.
