Freytag Family Mausoleum

The royal resting place of the Freytag family - Conrad Freytag was once an honorary citizen of the city - a contractor and pioneer of reinforced concrete construction.

"The neoclassical urn hall was built [...] in 1911 by the pioneer of reinforced concrete construction and contractor Dr. Conrad Freytag (1846 – 1921) erected on the occasion of the death of his eldest daughter. He placed the construction under the motto: 'Love never ends'. The completely preserved building is still the burial place of the Freytag family, whose last bearer of the name died in 2007. [...] Freytag was a member of the Neustadt city council and was made an honorary citizen of the city in 1916.”
Wayss & Freytag is still active in tunnel construction in Frankfurt today.
