Homecoming of the Mecker BridgeAn old friend returns: The Mecker Bridge is being shipped to Lingen today via the Dortmund-Ems Canal. It will be installed at its old location on Thursday morning. "We are delighted that the bridge will be back in Lingen in time for the Dragon Boat Cup," explained Mayor Dieter Krone. Christian Schulte, Head of Civil Engineering, appeals in particular to everyone who is fascinated by shipping and technology: "The arrival and installation of the bridge will certainly be very worth seeing." At the same time, he points out that there is still some work to be done and, in particular, the ramps have to be reconnected to the bridge. Interested parties are therefore asked to pay attention to the barriers.During recurring bridge inspections, static problems were discovered on the Mecker Bridge. In November, it was therefore dug up and transported to Niederlangen by inland waterway vessel and large transport.

It's great that the bridge is back in its place.
