The second sculpture, "Murscher Eselsche," stands in an open field with expansive views. Unlike the first, it is made of rusted steel. The oversized animal gazes friendly at hikers on the Saar-Hunsrück Dream Loop trail of the same name and doesn't mind a selfie.

Beautiful silhouette cut from steel. Great as a photo motif, also for selfies. Unfortunately, the ears of the real Murscher Eselsche were blown up by young people with unexploded bombs from the World War.

The Murscher steel donkey - another community project

A 3m high steel donkey connected to a wonderful viewpoint. Located on the Saar-Hunsrück-Steig, on the Murscher Eselsche dream loop and on the Murscher Aussichten dream loop. A typical Morshausen project that began years ago during a conversation on New Year's Eve: "I have now bought a machine that can be used to cut figures from steel. We can do something on the donkey." At some point the idea with the steel donkey came up. Said and done. The graphic artist Fritz Eger painted the donkey, the steelworker Martin Boos built it, the concrete worker Erwin Beres took care of the fortification and many helpers brought it into the ground. There he is now. Source: Text information board
