Hiking
The Catholic parish was the first to be established in Protestant Erlangen after the Reformation. After a long request, Margrave Alexander the newcomer approved the building of a prayer house (1787-90). In 1849-50 it was radically redesigned in the Munich Neuromamntik style and the bell tower was built. In 1895 Friedrich Wilhelm Scharff expanded the building. The original building was completely redesigned between 1950 and 1970. Only the old baptismal font and fragments of paintings have been preserved.
