The old Schurmseesteig is only recommended for experienced hikers; hiking boots with a good grip and surefootedness are necessary. One part is a bit exposed (you need a head for heights!) and you have to climb over large fallen trees. The path is sometimes difficult to see in summer as it is overgrown. In the middle of the path you cross an overgrown path and the further descent path is only recognizable by a pile of stones. A small section of the path goes down quite steeply when you walk down. Not recommended when it is wet or after rain.
