The village of Kapellensüng is part of the municipality of Lindlar. In terms of urban planning, Kapellensüng has grown together with Hartegasse and Steinenbrücke. Kapellensüng is also known colloquially as "Süng". Kapellensüng was mentioned for the first time in 1413 as sune.

The historic town center of Kapellensüng around the parish church of St. Agatha with the slated rectory from 1799 and two listed half-timbered houses from the 17th and 18th centuries is worth seeing.
