The port of Porto Vromi is a secluded, fjord-like bay on the rugged northwest coast.
There are two separate accesses that are often confused: Porto Vromi Maries (accessible via the village of Maries) and Porto Vromi Anafonitria (accessible via Anafonitria). Both are close to each other but are not directly connected by a coastal road.
Gateway to Navagio Beach: The port is the most strategically convenient starting point for boat trips to the famous Shipwreck Beach (Navagio), as the crossing from here takes only about 15-20 minutes.
