Stretching for about 1.5km from Xiangyang Road to Chongqing Road this is a wonderful street to stroll, look around, shop and enjoy. Lined with trees the old villas and townhouses now offer a variety of boutiques and cafes.

The street was formerly called Route Dollfus and Route Vallon. The houses and villas have once been home to figures such as painter Lin Fengmian (1900-1991), poet Xu Zhimo (1897-1931), translator Fu Lei (1908-66), or Fou Lei known by Western readers, and famous modern industrialist Wu Yunchu (1891-1953).
