Ziegenberg Castle is a castle on a mountain spur to the left of the Usa above the Langenhain-Ziegenberg district of the Ober-Mörlen municipality in the Wetterau district in Hesse. The former tower castle in Ziegenberg was built in the middle of the 14th century by the Lords of Falkenstein. After several changes of ownership and partial destruction in the Thirty Years' War, the complex was expanded in 1747 by Eitel von Diede into a baroque castle with a simple façade. Only the round keep of the original castle remained. In 1937/1938 the castle was ceded to the German Reich. From 1939 onwards the German Wehrmacht built extensive bunkers on the complex (Führer Headquarters Adlerhorst). In September 1944 the Ardennes Offensive was led from here by Field Marshal von Rundstedt. In March 1945, the castle was largely destroyed by American fighter bombers.
It remained as a ruin long after the end of the war.
Partially restored, the complex was completely converted into condominiums in 1992/1993.

Castle above, hidden entrance to the FHQ below. Today used as a storage room for the town.
The entrances to the actual bunker are buried.
The castle is worth seeing, even if access is not permitted. Residents do not like to see it. The row of garbage cans is impressive.
