The construction of the Gebelzig Castle dates back to the 14th century. Until the early 16th century, it served as a gathering point and refuge for Upper Lusatian robber barons.
Today, the rooms house the Hohendubrau primary school, the day-care center and the kindergarten.
The primary school was extensively renovated in 2012.
