Wiltenburg Entrance Gate

Beautiful gate and you are allowed to cross this terrain. Nice to include that passage in your walk.

At Oukoopsedijk 8 is the old farm Wiltenburg. The most striking element of this farm, which itself is not particularly old, is the entrance gate on the road, consisting of two stone pillars with a sculpted coat of arms above them. The coat of arms represents a golden lily on a blue field, it is carried by two lions and covered with a crown. Below it are the Latin motto “Quam parva, nulli cedo” (“although I am small, I yield to nothing”) and the name “Wiltenburg”. This entrance gate has the status of a national monument and is a reminder of the history of the dubious high lordship of Wiltenburg.
