The Evangelical Lutheran St. Nicolai Church is a classicist hall church and was built between 1808 and 1812 as a typical Saxon preaching church based on designs by the architect J. T. Lohse.

The St. Nicolai Church, built between 1808 and 1812, is dedicated to St. Nicholas of Myra, the patron saint of travelers and traders. Valuable items of inventory include: the ringing of four bells; the organ with rich carvings with a central tower and two side towers, built by the organ builder C.G. Steinmüller; the pulpit altar, depicted as a unity of word, sacrament and worship; the two carved figures; the marble baptismal font decorated with classicist ornaments; the flat ceiling and the surrounding galleries; the boxes; the altarpiece with the Last Supper; the altar figures; the crucifix and the candlesticks made of Bohemian glass. To the left of the pulpit is a picture of Johann Hermann Schein, the most important Thomaskantor before Bach, who was born in Grünhain in 1586.

Beautiful church and large swing arches outside the houses all year round.
