The view from the Galgenberg over the city center with the castle and St. Georgen Church as well as the surrounding area is something very special.
The last execution in Schwarzenberg took place in 1823. Carl Ludwig Otto was madly in love with Wilhelmine Baumgärtel. Her father, however, was against this relationship. The young man did not accept this so easily and killed his lover and tried to follow her by committing suicide, but failed. He had to answer for this act in court and was sentenced to death by the sword.
