The monopteros or druid temple was the first decoration building in the grove. In the spring of 1804 the round temple was moved to its current location on the Steinwöhrlein, previously it had stood in the garden of Seehof Palace.

In autumn 2020 the Druid Temple got new stone benches and they still look as if they have always been there. In fact, the replicas are based on a historical model from the Seehof Palace garden, where the Monopteros, popularly known as the “Druid Temple”, from 1803 once stood.
