The Castel site is a remarkable coastal area that serves as the gateway to Milliau Island and forms part of the Natura 2000 "Pink Granite Coast - Seven Islands" protected zone. The site features 300-million-year-old pink granite formations with large crystals, created when basalt from deep underground melted surrounding rocks beneath ancient Himalayan-height mountains.
