Over 275 years ago, Wilhelm Schlüter founded a grain distillery, which has been family-owned ever since. The main building of the distillery is now a listed building. The Schlüter distillery is the 16th oldest distillery in Germany. The grain for the grain is grown and harvested in Suderwich fields (source: the grain distillery's website)
