Information from the Emschergenossenschaft on request (July 2024): "The glass cylinder is a water feature at one of our adventure sites on our new Emscher Promenade. With the help of a hand crank, a water whirlpool can be created in the vessel. Appropriately, this place on the promenade is also called the Emscher whirlpool.
