Five minutes before you cross the viaduct under the railway, you pass through the city center of Marche-en-Famenne... and suddenly you find yourself in a valley full of nature.
With an area of approximately 15 hectares, the Fond des Vaulx valley is part of the Calestienne, a narrow strip of limestone formed over millions of years by the acidic waters of the southern Ardennes massif.
There are many educational signs on the path with information about fauna and flora, geology, history and legends.
