The Bunderbos, located between Meerssen and Elsloo, is one of the most beautiful spring forests in the Netherlands. Part of the spring water is drained via the Hemelbeek. Beavers have been active in this location for a number of years. The water level has risen enormously due to the building of dams and castles. To make the area accessible to walkers, a steel walking path has been built at this location.
