Tips
The beginnings go back to the 14th century. In 1541, after a catastrophic fire, this hospital complex was built with a new chapel incorporating old parts of the building. For 100 years, the building complex has served as a retirement home and nursing station.In 1386, the Bishop of Constance, Nicholas II of Riesenburg, issued an appeal for donations. In it, he asked believers to make alms for the Holy Spirit Hospital, which was under construction. Until the opening of the Radolfzell hospital on the Mettnau in 1906, the sick and elderly were admitted to the hospital for treatment and care.
