Haus Ley is a former moated castle and was first documented in records around 1370. The castle represented the southwesternmost fortification of County Mark against the Archbishopric of Cologne.
Since the 19th century, the listed building has been run as an agricultural enterprise. The property can only be visited from the outside.

1370 the geographical place was first mentioned under the name of Lyen by a Siegburg abbot in connection with a fief documentary. The moated castle was owned by the Von Neuhoff family, a Bergian civil servant family, from the 15th to the 17th century. Count Schwarzenberg bought the castle on it, demolished it and built a new mansion. Since the 19th century, the now listed building is run as an agricultural business.
