The Hoëgne is the most important tributary of the Weser and has its source on the Venn plateau near Baraque Michel. The valley of the Hoëgne is of remarkable botanical interest, not only because of the liverworts, mosses and ferns that grow there, but also because of its floral richness.

The trail was laid out at the end of the 19th century and inaugurated by Queen Marie-Henriette. As you walk, you will discover the centenary footbridge "Le Centenaire", a section of the Hoëgne that becomes a torrent as far as Belleheid and two waterfalls along the river that bear the names of King Leopold II and his wife... (marked path No. 55).

Don't expect too much from the Hoënge waterfalls. The waterfalls have a height of about 1-2 m. To reduce the Hoënge only to these waterfalls would not do justice to this river. Even without the small splashing "waterfalls", the Hoënge represents a very beautiful primeval stream with countless perspectives.

Again and again you walk on these root paths during the tour. It is strongly recommended to wear sturdy shoes. In wet weather it can get slippery here
