The river Hoëgne is located in the High Fens and is a fantastic 30 km long watercourse. What makes this river interesting are its small rapids and the dark color of the water. The soil is rich in iron and this causes the brown color.

The Ardennes are of course known for their beautiful green forests and this is no different here! During your hike, enjoy ancient views along the river Hoëgne as well as the ancient "Pont de la Vecquee". This bridge is part of the Gallo-Roman road "La Vecquée" that runs through the Ardennes and ends at the Baraque Michel.
