    Old oak tree
    Estimated age approx. 480 years.

In old maps and documents it is striking that at each ferry connection a large distinctive tree can be found. He was to show travelers from afar where the ferry connection was to be found.
As early as 1734, this tree gave its name to the Rhine ferry. In the old Nordheimer court protocol she was called "driving on EICBAUM".
On an Austrian war map of 1702 this tree is already drawn in and marked as Eichbaum. He must already have been a stately, striking tree.
During the Second World War, German soldiers also used this oak as a vantage point and had crampons crammed into the trunk.

    1987 - trunk diameter 2.07 meters
    1987 - height 23 meters
    1987 - trunk circumference 6.50 meters

The beautiful old oak is now unfortunately dead.
      Nature still enriches them.
