The Rhine dike keeps the Monheim urban area from flooding. Before, behind and on, there is a recreational area for everyone. In addition to the neanderlandSTEIG, this also includes a circular walk with a length of about five kilometers (hiking trail number A2). On the banks of the road close to the river you can walk between the old dikes, orchards and fields, hedges, pollard meadows and paddocks, ride a bicycle or go for a walk.
