Today, the house is a museum temple. Furthermore, it is a biological station of the district Mettmann.

In the middle of the Rheinaue Urdenbacher Kämpe between Düsseldorf and Monheim am Rhein lies the historic Haus Bürgel estate. The former Roman fort is an architectural and archaeological monument with a history spanning over 2,000 years.
The farm complex is now home to a Roman museum, a biological station and a cold-blood horse breeding facility.
