Iron sandstone quarry Wijngaardberg

As mentioned with the other former iron sandstone quarries in Wezemaal, there were three in total (see highlights "Devil's Pit" and "Impressive iron sandstone formations"). Here, just before you reach the western end of the Wine Wall, you will find and see the third one after climbing the stairs, between the bench and the wall. And here too you can view the formations up close. Some pieces stick out so far that you can partially crawl under them. From here you also have a beautiful view over the valley, with the highway. I personally think it is the most beautiful quarry of the three due to its location and excellent shapes.
