The Potsdam Botanical Garden was created in 1950 on the northern edge of Sanssouci Park. It covers an area of 5 hectares and is home to around 9,000 plant species. The listed buildings from the 19th century are under the administration of the Prussian Palaces and Gardens Berlin-Brandenburg Foundation.
