The town of Verbania was founded in 1939 by the merger of the previously independent municipalities of Intra and Pallanza. Its territory extends over the hills of Lake Maggiore.
The direct contact with nature through excursions on the lake, visits to the gardens and hikes in the hinterland, the museums of considerable importance and the numerous examples of sacred art make this town really attractive and worth seeing.
