Rheydt Castle in Mönchengladbach is the only architecturally completely preserved Renaissance castle on the Lower Rhine. Rheydt Castle is a Renaissance moated castle complex on the Lower Rhine and an important architectural monument in Mönchengladbach in the district of the same name. Otto von Bylandt had the castle built between 1558 and 1591 by the master builder Maximilian von Pasqualini. Pretty little castle surrounded by lots of water. With a bit of luck you might catch a glimpse of the kingfishers.

On a Sunday in November with moderately nice weather, everything was already booked/reserved until 7 p.m. at 3 p.m. So don't rely too much on the idea that "there will be something available"!
