At 145 hectares, the Indetal nature reserve is the second largest of Aachen's nature reserves. The soft stream valley, its scenic beauty, plants worthy of protection (e.g. marsh iris and marsh marigold) and animals (pond newt, yellow-bellied toad, spring frog and lamprey) and special habitats should be preserved and their ecological quality should be further improved.
