    St. Nicolai (Landsberg)

    St. Nicolai in Landsberg

St. Nicolai is a listed Protestant church in the town of Landsberg in the Saale district in Saxony-Anhalt. It is listed as a monument in the local register of monuments under registration number 094 55192.[1] It belongs to the Landsberg parish area in the Halle-Saalkreis church district of the Evangelical Church in Central Germany and, since the Roman Catholic chapel in Hohenthurm Castle was profaned, has also been used as a place of worship for the current parish of St. Mauritius and St. Elisabeth Halle-Mitte as a place of worship for the Hohenthurm Curate used.[2]

The church with the address An der Kirche is dedicated to St. Nicholas. With the west transverse tower and the east apse, it is a typical church building for the area. The church was built in the year 1200. During the later additions, sacristy and portal porch, and renovations, care was taken to ensure that the church maintained a uniform appearance.

Noteworthy inside are both the pulpit with late Renaissance forms and the romantic organ by August Ferdinand Wäldner with II/13 on mechanical sliding chests, which has been completely preserved in its original form.

      Bells

The tower of the church has had three bronze bells again since 2018. Until 2018, the tower bore two iron bells with the tones e′ and g′ in addition to the historic bronze bell by Franz Schilling. In 2018, two new bronze bells were cast in Sinn by the Rincker bell and art foundry, the motif changed to g′-a′- h′, the old bell was integrated into the new bell and the entire system was renovated.
