A beautiful sunken road like there are more here but this one is a bit different thanks to the beautiful iron sandstone pieces that outcrop, the holes and traces of diggers and in spring many early spring flowers. Halfway there also seems to have been a quarry. The sunken road is also part of the GR 512 large route. This path can be muddy and in wetter weather there is a small stream where it can sometimes be more difficult to walk because the walking surface is sometimes quite narrow.

A sunken road is a road that is so deeply worn that it lies between two slopes. It is the result of centuries of use and erosion. The most beautiful sunken roads can be found especially in hilly areas with a subsoil that easily forms steep walls, such as in Haspengouw and Hageland.
