There are still numerous traces of the old munitions factory from World War II all over Hirschhagen. Hidden in the forest, with the trees as camouflage, ammunition and explosives were produced here on a large scale by forced laborers. Many of them died or became seriously ill, and many were deported from here to (other) concentration camps. The remains of the entire facility with its bunkers, water channels, ponds, etc. leave an oppressive impression and are a historical memorial.
