The Kapbuschsee is a quarry lake created by sand or gravel mining in the Heinsberg district of North Rhine-Westphalia. It is located between the Hückelhoven districts of Hilfarth and Brachelen on the L 364. According to the usage permit, diving is only permitted to members of the Hückelhoven sports diving club in the assigned diving zone. In previous years, a triathlon took place in late summer. The proceeds from an annual summer festival are donated to charitable purposes, usually to children's cancer charities. The “Aloa Beach” is located on the lake, a restaurant with a terrace right on the water. The northern part of the lake lies in the 89.70 hectare Kapbusch nature reserve (HS-031), a contiguous forest area that is largely surrounded by intensively used agricultural areas.
