Hiking
The charcoal burners used kilns to char wood in the absence of air. The charcoal was used for cooking, heating and in metallurgy. The life of the charcoal burners was hard, but charcoal burning played an important role in Mallorca's economy.
Today most of the charcoal burners are disused, but they are a reminder of the island's history.
