Beautiful hut of Hainfelder, ideal picnic area under the cherry tree.

    Hiking

There used to be a forest garden here with a cherry tree. Later this was “a feeding and resting place for forest carters with their animals”. Today “the cherry tree hut of the Palatinate Forest Association Hainfeld now stands (Eitelmann p. 69).”

Nowadays a cherry tree grows here again (bird cherry = wild/forest cherry).

For Ritterstein fans: The Ritterstein is sometimes only listed as a “cherry tree”, but the inscription on site reads “Hainfelder Kirschbaum”!

    Hiking

This beautiful forest hut on the old Taubensuhl - Heldenstein high road was renovated and expanded in 1993/94 by the PWV Hainfeld. You can sit under the canopy or in a kind of "front garden" on a double bench with a table - surrounded by 2 large stones:
There is both a knight's stone here, see: komoot.com/de-de/highlight/645540 , and a memorial stone with the inscription: "In memory of the 100th anniversary of the Modenbachtal and Hochstraßen cooperative, 1831 - 1931".
The cherry tree that stands here is a bird cherry, also called a wild cherry or forest cherry.
