The Korbacher column is one of the most important fossil sites in the world. To be precise, it is the second oldest fossil-bearing column in the world. Rare mammal-like reptiles have been found here, such as the “Korbacher Dachshund”, which is also the logo of the GeoRadtroute Ruhr-Eder.

From March to October, the GeoFoyer is open every day except Monday from 11 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. From November to February it opens from Tuesday to Friday from 2 p.m. to 4.30 p.m. and on weekends and public holidays from 11 a.m. to 4.30 p.m.

Guided tours are possible and cost 3 euros for adults and 1.50 euros for young people. Children up to six years are free.
