In 1874, the Counts of Schönborn acquired the farms through a sale and exchange. In 1926, Sapper, a Nuremberg academic, bought the estate. His family lived there until 1975. The buildings were subsequently acquired by the Beyer family. Today, Christmas trees are planted and sold across the country.

The Dobersdorf estate is located directly on the picturesque lake of the same name in East Holstein Switzerland.

The Pogwish family founded the actual estate and it was owned by their family from 1475 to 1625. Ownership then changed to the noble families of Reventlow, Brockdorff, Rantzau and then to the Blome family.

Christoph von Blome had the current manor house built in the second half of the 18th century, but due to his fidei commissioner's decree on November 4, 1808, it was hardly used by his descendants. Blome only left behind daughters and apparently did not trust his sons-in-law to manage the estate, so he transferred it to a family foundation and managed it by administrators. It was not until the end of the 19th century that the manor house was regularly inhabited, after Kuno zu Rantzau and his wife Marie, a daughter of Otto von Bismarck, moved into the estate in 1890. After the death of the last two residents, Marie von Bismarck died in 1927, the mansion was empty again. The estate was operated until 1932, when the family foundation sold the property. The manor house served as a hotel for a time, while most of the land that once comprised almost 2,500 hectares was sold and the estate was reduced to around 800 hectares.

In 1960, Dobersdorf went to the Burgsdorff family from Brandenburg, who had to give up their possessions in eastern Germany as a result of the events of the post-war period. Under them the estate was reorganized and the focus was placed on forestry.

Today the forestry and estate business is owned by the von Burgsdorff family: “It is a special challenge to be able to run this business in the third generation. My wife Esther and I do this with great passion!” says Christian von Burgsdorff.

The Dobersdorf estate may not be visited or entered outside of events (private). In the non-leafy season, the Dobersdorf estate is clearly visible from the cycle path. At Christmas time the gates of the estate open for the Christmas tree sale and you can take a look at the estate's grounds. The opening of the WILDSAU farm shop should be viewed on the website below.
