A nice picnic spot (wide views), even if it is at the intersection of two country roads.

"These press trees were used until the 1960s and only then were they replaced by electric presses. After they were no longer needed, most of the press trees were demolished, so that only a few remain as historical monuments.
The wine press was originally located in a winery in the Alsenz Valley. There it served as a 'tithe press', on which the inscription I. H. v. H. indicates on the head beam, that is, their proceeds went to the farmer's master (at least in part). The press was in operation until 1948.
The Landau Local History Museum bought the press in 1960 and made it available to Wollmesheim in 2009.” Source (quoted verbatim):

The name of the vineyard “Wollmesheimer Mutterle” does not come from “mother”, but from “Mütte”. On the information board on site it is explained as follows:
“It was probably the small piece of land belonging to an officially appointed weighmaster for grain and wine, the Mutterer, who had taken his measure with the mother (Latin: modius) since the Middle Ages and thus gave our Wollmesheim location its name.”
