The bronze group (dated 1702) stands with its base plate on a Tuscan column dated 1713, which was changed to 1769. It depicts the scourging of Christ by two executioners who violently beat the bound man. The installation is similar to many of the Marian and saintly columns that were erected in the Linz area at the same time.

This pillar commemorates Stefan Fadinger, a leader of the rebels in the Upper Austrian Peasants' War. This peasant uprising took place in 1626 during the Thirty Years' War.
