Goldhausen emerged from an earlier gold mining settlement, which was first mentioned in documents in 1541 as “Goldhusen”. Today Goldhausen has around 320 residents and is part of the town of Korbach.

Goldhausen is a worthwhile excursion destination with many sights. The “Gold Trail Eisenberg” leads past interesting gold mining sites and explains the history of gold in the Eisenberg.
