The small park in the bend of the Swist River, which flows through Heimerzheim, is dominated by a small hill. There is a kind of table on it that reminds one of an altar, and on it there is a statue of a mother with her child. The inscription reminds us to remember the victims of the world wars and the German/French war.

The memorial is hardly noticeable when you walk past. I almost marched past it. A children's playground with a large pirate ship is being built next door. That makes you take a closer look.
