The historic chapel, surrounded by a fieldstone wall, is a remarkable building
and is centrally located in the town. According to the Ratzeburg tithe register from 1230, the village of Tramm belonged ecclesiastically to Siebeneichen, but was under the lordship of the Ritzerau estate.
When Ritzerau was sold to the city of Lübeck in the middle of the 15th century,
the patronage of the chapel also passed to the city council.

There was probably already a chapel at this time,
because in the Middle Ages the chapel had three altars, from which the
figures in the chancel today come.

The current chapel building was built in the 17th century; the neo-Gothic bell tower was added in 1903. Inside there are still some pieces from the previous building: the limestone slab on the altar, the pulpit from 1634 and the apostle figures.
The latter belonged to one of the three medieval altars in the chapel, which were given to the St. Anne's Museum in Lübeck when the chapel was rebuilt. In 1931, the museum loaned six figures back to the community. During the renovation in 1967, the interior was given its current appearance, with the chancel in particular being fundamentally redesigned. In 1981, the harmonium that had been used until then was replaced by an organ with four registers from the workshop of the Swedish organ builder Thulesius. kirche-breitenfelde.de/geschichte.html
